As ya'll remember, I made a list of goals a few months ago. One that I wanted to learn to play the guitar. Since August 1 I have had one of my dad's acoustic guitars and have been practicing nearly every day. The first week or two was more pain than playing, since you have to gradually have your fingertips 'calloused' to play. But the good news is that's much better and I'm learning some stuff faster than I thought I would. Now that my fingertips are tougher (although not quite their toughest), I can play longer each day, and sometimes 2-3 times a day if I wish. I'm still very much a beginner, but I'm now able to play a little without sounding terrible. So yay! :)

I actually started to learn on dad's electric guitar when I was 13 or 14, but then I got into high school, etc, etc...and it just fell by the wayside. One day, I may take some lessons from someone I actually have to pay, lol. But for right now, the internet is a HUGE resource. I also know a few ppl that play (including dad, duh), so I can always ask them stuff. I can tell I'm getting better with chord transitions and hand placement. Now when I play I don't have to concentrate so much and can just enjoy playing.
So yeahhhhh, havin fun doin that....just thought I'd tell ya. But don't plan on me putting anything of me playing on YouTube or Facebook anytime soon ;)
Well, I'm off, I found another song to learn and I don't know all the chords yet.....

Dad's guitar after I cleaned and polished it, isn't it beautiful!? (that's the couch in it's reflection) And it's almost as old as me :) I've decided that a guitar will be the first present to myself when I get a job. :) I love this one, esp how it has the darker wood on the front also, not the typical blond wood.
